All disabled people have different requirements – we can match a vehicle to your needs

If you’re searching for disabled car hire, it’s important you find a vehicle that suits your needs. We offer over 1,000 wheelchair accessible rental vehicles, available on demand. Each one is specially adapted so that you can comfortably travel as a passenger without having to get out of your wheelchair. You enter the vehicle either via a ramp or an easy-use lift. Then, once you’re in, robust restraints help keep your wheelchair safely in position for the journey.
We make sure you’re happy with how everything works
It might be that when you hire a wheelchair accessible car for the first time, you’re a little apprehensive about how it all works. To help put your mind at ease, our trained delivery driver will give you a thorough demonstration of all the features. Only when you’re 100% confident will they hand over the keys.
We make sure everyone can travel together
Our disabled car hires can seat from 2 to 6 people. It means you can plan to head out just the two of you or get together with a group of friends and head away for a few days. We can talk you through the various seating options and layouts inside the vehicles, too. The most important thing for us is that you get to travel in the way that suits you best.

Ramp or lift: Which is best for you?
One of the most important things to consider when hiring a WAV is whether to opt for a vehicle fitted with a ramp or a lift.
For many people, a ramp is all that’s needed to get in and out of the vehicle easily. The person you’re travelling with simply unfolds the ramp for you. Some WAVs come fitted with automatic ramps, which makes things even easier. You push a button, and the ramp unfolds by itself.
Wheelchair lifts tend to be fitted on larger WAVs. It’s worth considering if you or the people you’re travelling with find it tricky to push your wheelchair up a ramp. Typically, they have a simple push-button that you use to lower and raise the ramp, making it extra simple to enter and exit the WAV.
4 ways our WAVs are tailored to your needs
You can choose from various seating configurations to ensure you have enough room for yourself and your travelling companions. Some of our WAVs seat up to 6 people, so even if you’re planning a long road trip, you can be sure that everyone will get there comfortably.

Plenty of space
No one wants to feel cramped when travelling. So, all our WAVs have been converted to ensure there’s plenty of space for you and your passengers inside the vehicle. It’s not a struggle to get in and out of the vehicle, either. With nice, low floors and a gentle ramp or lift, it’s easy for you to enter and exit the WAV.

Strong wheelchair restraints
Safety is paramount when you’re travelling. So, all the disabled car hires we offer come with secure wheelchair restraints installed. It means you can safely lock your wheelchair in position before you set off, then sit back and enjoy the journey in comfort.
