Naidex, held at the NEC on the 20th and 21st of March, brought innovators, thought leaders, and advocates from the disability community together. In the adjacent hall, UK Care Week aimed to unite caregivers, healthcare professionals and service providers to address crucial challenges within the sector and improve care quality.
Our highlights from the event include:
Meeting some of our customers in person at the event.
Connecting with many of the hundreds of exhibitors, ranging from large corporations such as Motability Operations to charities, vehicle converters, mobility aid providers, accessible travel operators, care providers and more.
Attending inspirational and thought-provoking seminars related to overcoming transport barriers, managing independence, knowing disability rights, designing digitally accessible products and more. One of our favourites was Skyscanner’s seminar, which shared practical tips and tricks on becoming more digitally accessible, informed by their own accessibility journey over the last 4 years.
And of course, our own Martyn Sibley and David Dew-Veal exploring the tangible actions that ORA is taking to deliver real change in removing barriers to transport and the importance of disabled people’s lived experiences and voices in shaping the solution.
“It does not need to be this way. Equal access to transport is vital for all members of society.”
David Dew-Veal, Naidex 2024
If you want to hear more from David and Martyn, you can listen to their recent podcast here.
The events reflect a broader movement within society and corporations towards increasing inclusivity and accessibility in transport and beyond. The momentum gained and the impact made by bringing the disability and care communities together along with innovators and advocates cannot be underestimated. We look forward to continuing this important dialogue.
